The Villages is a 55+ active adult community with about 79,000 residents at the 2020 census across Sumter, Lake and Marion counties.
It began in the early 1970s as Orange Blossom Gardens, a mobile home park in northwestern Lake County, and was officially renamed The Villages in 1992.
Life here centers on golf, golf carts and town squares. The community has 56 golf courses, golf cart bridges over SR 44 and Florida’s Turnpike, and town centers including Spanish Springs, Lake Sumter Landing and Brownwood Paddock Square.
The Villages is about 85 miles from our base in Levy County, so we quote most moves here as one flat rate. Whether you’re moving in, downsizing within the community or moving a parent closer to family anywhere in Florida, we’re ready to help.

The community is bounded roughly by US 301 on the west, US 27/441 on the east, CR 42 on the north and CR 470 on the south. Buena Vista and Morse Boulevards are the main north-south roads, and many residents get around by golf cart.

The Villages Charter Schools serve children of people who work for The Villages and its businesses. Other students are zoned to public schools in Sumter, Lake or Marion County.
