Customers on How We Handle Their Things
Real reviews from Google, word for word.
Alex and the team at Old Florida Moving were absolutely fantastic from start to finish. They were professional, courteous, efficient, and incredibly communicative throughout the entire process. What really impressed me was the level of care they took with our furniture – and especially with our large rugs. They carefully measured everything, rotated the rugs, and placed each piece with incredible precision. Everything ended up exactly where it needed to be, and the attention to detail was exceptional. It’s rare to find movers who combine efficiency with this level of care and professionalism. Alex was wonderful to work with, and I would highly recommend Old Florida Moving to anyone looking for a moving company they can truly trust. Five stars without hesitation!
Very professional and hardworking moving company. I would highly recommend. They were on time and had a friendly positive attitude. Good price too.
We hired Alex and his crew at Old Florida Moving to move my grandmother from Gainesville to Crystal River, and they did an amazing job. My grandmother was especially worried about her antique vanity that means so much to her, but they handled it with incredible care and professionalism. Alex personally came out to the job with his crew, and you could tell they truly cared. Everything arrived safely, and the whole move was smooth and stress-free. Highly recommend Old Florida Moving!

Good Packing Is Most of a Good Move
Most moving damage starts in the box, not on the truck. A plate wrapped in one sheet of paper and dropped into a half-empty box will break on the first bump. When we pack, each fragile piece is wrapped on its own, boxes are filled so nothing slides, and heavy items go into small boxes.
Glass gets extra attention. On a china cabinet, the glass doors are covered in bubble wrap, a cardboard crate is built over the top, and the whole piece is wrapped in moving pads and banded. You can see that exact process in the photos above from a job in Chiefland.
Every box is labeled with the room it belongs in. At the new home that means the crew isn’t asking where things go, and you aren’t digging through a garage full of mystery boxes.
On moving day, floor runners and door jamb protectors go down before the first box moves, so all that careful packing isn’t undone by a scuffed wall or a scratched floor.

That’s me, Alex, the owner. I quote the job, I pack right alongside the crew, and I’m on the truck the day you move. Thirteen years in professional moving.
📚 Small Boxes for Heavy Things
Books and canned goods go in small boxes. Big boxes are for light things like linens and pillows.
📝 Set Aside an Open-First Box
Coffee maker, a few dishes, toilet paper and chargers in one clearly marked box makes the first night easy.
💎 Keep Valuables With You
Jewelry, important documents and medications should ride with you, not in a packed box.
📅 Ask About Packing Ahead
For a full house, ask about packing the day before so moving day itself stays on schedule.
