How a Senior Move Works With Us
A simple plan worked out ahead of time, so moving day holds no surprises.
A First Phone Call
Talk with Alex directly. You or an adult son or daughter can call, and we go over the new place, the timeline and what matters most.
Decide What Comes Along
We help you think through what fits in the new space. Mark the pieces that are coming, and everything else stays exactly where it is.
Plan the New Layout
Share a floor plan or a few room measurements, and we figure out where the bed, recliner and dresser go before moving day.
Protect Both Homes
Floor runners go down and door jamb protectors go up at the old home and the new one before the first piece moves.
Move at Your Pace
Furniture is padded and wrapped, breaks happen whenever you need them, and questions are always welcome.
Bed First, Room to Rest
We set up the bed first so you can rest while we finish, and we keep the bedroom clear of stacked boxes, so when you lie down you can actually relax instead of feeling crowded in.

What Families Say About Working With Alex
Real reviews from Google, word for word.
Alex and the team at Old Florida Moving were absolutely fantastic from start to finish. They were professional, courteous, efficient, and incredibly communicative throughout the entire process. What really impressed me was the level of care they took with our furniture – and especially with our large rugs. They carefully measured everything, rotated the rugs, and placed each piece with incredible precision. Everything ended up exactly where it needed to be, and the attention to detail was exceptional. It’s rare to find movers who combine efficiency with this level of care and professionalism. Alex was wonderful to work with, and I would highly recommend Old Florida Moving to anyone looking for a moving company they can truly trust. Five stars without hesitation!
Very professional and hardworking moving company. I would highly recommend. They were on time and had a friendly positive attitude. Good price too.
We hired Alex and his crew at Old Florida Moving to move my grandmother from Gainesville to Crystal River, and they did an amazing job. My grandmother was especially worried about her antique vanity that means so much to her, but they handled it with incredible care and professionalism. Alex personally came out to the job with his crew, and you could tell they truly cared. Everything arrived safely, and the whole move was smooth and stress-free. Highly recommend Old Florida Moving!

A Senior Move Should Never Feel Rushed
Moving out of a home you have lived in for decades isn’t just about furniture. Every dresser and every box of photos carries a story, and the people carrying them should act like it. On a senior move I slow down, explain what we’re doing and check in before anything goes on the truck.
Most of the real work happens before moving day. We talk about which pieces fit the new rooms, what stays behind for family and what the first night needs to look like. That way nobody is making hard decisions while a crew stands around waiting.
On moving day I set up the bed first, so Mom or Dad can rest while we finish the rest of the house. I keep the bedroom clear of stacked boxes, too, so when they lie down they can actually relax instead of feeling crowded in.
When a son or daughter is helping from somewhere else, I keep them in the loop with calls and texts, so they know when we arrive, when the truck is loaded and when Mom or Dad is settled in.
We don’t run estate sales or haul away donations and junk. What we can do is help you plan the order of things, so the move fits around whatever else your family has going on.

That’s me, Alex, the owner. I answer the phone, I quote the job, and I’m on the truck the day you move. Thirteen years in professional moving, and I handle every senior move like it’s my own family.
📏 Measure the New Rooms
A few measurements of the bedroom and living room tell us which pieces will fit before anything gets loaded.

📞 Pick One Point of Contact
Choose one family member to talk with Alex, so plans don’t get crossed between siblings.
🏷️ Label What Stays
Colored tape or sticky notes on pieces staying behind keep moving day simple and calm.
