Why Hire Movers for One Piece of Furniture?
A single sofa sounds simple until it’s wedged in a seller’s stairwell or sliding around the bed of a pickup on US 19. I treat a one-item job the way I treat a full house: the right number of people, real moving pads and a truck with room to strap things down.
Before I quote a pickup, I ask for photos and measurements. That tells me whether two movers are enough, whether a glass door should come off, and whether the piece will fit through your front door before we ever load it.
If you have more than one thing to grab, tell me up front. Since every job carries a 3-hour minimum, a Marketplace couch, a dresser from a relative and a storage unit drop-off can share one trip and one bill.
For appliances, we move them and set them in place. We don’t connect gas or water lines, so plan on a plumber or appliance technician for the hookup.
