Tennille is a small community in southeastern Taylor County, at the junction where SR 51 meets the stretch of US 19, US 98 and US 27 Alternate that runs between Perry and Chiefland.
SR 51 begins in Steinhatchee, about 10 miles to the south, and continues north from Tennille through Lafayette County to Mayo.
Up the highway to the northwest are Salem and then Perry, the county seat. To the southeast, US 19 crosses into Dixie County toward Cross City. Taylor County, nicknamed the “Tree Capital of the South,” had about 21,800 residents at the 2020 census.
